OVERVIEW

We're looking for a lead AI/ML engineer to help execute our strategic multi-year roadmap focused on generative AI. As a mission-based organization, we're pursuing an AI strategy that will drive value for our customers, empower our employees, and address AI harms in the digital marketplace.

As a Lead AI/ML Engineer, you will leverage emerging data technologies and applied AI/ML techniques/frameworks to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable production-ready applications. You will report to the Associate Director, AI/ML & Machine Learning, collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating business challenges into specific AI/ML problems with measurable outcomes.

This is a remote position. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

How you'll make an Impact:

• Analyze business requirements from cross-functional teams and translate them into technical AI/ML problems
• Lead AI/ML initiatives in designing, developing, and deploying AI solutions
• Collaborate with business, product, UI/UX, and engineering teams to build automated end-to-end AI/ML pipelines
• Research and stay updated on the latest AI/ML technologies and frameworks to drive innovation
• Advocate for responsible AI practices, ensuring ethical use and compliance with data privacy standards
• Mentor and guide team members on AI/ML engineering best practices, providing technical leadership

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related field
• 7+ years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering projects
• Strong foundations in Computer Science, Math, Probability, Statistics, Machine Learning, Image Processing, NLP, and Generative AI concepts
• Expertise in Python, SQL, Unix Scripting, and related libraries/frameworks
• Experience building end-to-end production-grade AI/ML pipelines in cloud environments (AWS + Databricks)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to LLMs (OpenAI GPT-3.5/4, BERT, BART, Dolly, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits

We are committed to fair pay and a just workplace. Salary ranges vary by location, with competitive, market-informed compensation. Locations include Yonkers, NY; Washington, DC; and Colchester, CT.

• NY/California: $165K-$190K annually
• DMV/Massachusetts: $143K-$165K annually
• Colchester, CT, and other CR locations: $137K-$158K annually
