Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) in Utah is seeking an AI Embedded Engineer IV to lead embedded software across ROS nodes, Python/C++ bridges, and sensor integration for autonomous robotics platforms. You will deploy and optimize models on vehicle compute, while bringing up sensors, wiring, and field-ready hardware.

The role blends software and hardware, demanding hands-on debugging, field testing, and technical leadership for complex initiatives within ASI’s five-level engineering structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in robotics, CS, CE, EE, ME, or related field.
• Experience developing embedded or autonomous system software.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for embedded platforms.
• Experience deploying neural networks to embedded runtimes; model export and optimization.
• Hands-on ROS/ROS 2 on real vehicles or robots.

Responsibilities

• Deploy trained models to vehicle CPUs/GPUs, managing export, optimization, quantization, and latency budgets.
• Retrain and fine-tune models when field performance drifts and validate on hardware.
• Build and maintain ROS nodes, topics, and interfaces on the vehicle.
• Develop Python and C++ bridges between compute and robot control.
• Profile runtime performance against compute headroom, memory, thermal limits, and power budgets.
• Bring up sensors and compute hardware including NVIDIA Jetson platforms, LiDAR, and depth/vision systems.
• Design and build sensor rigs, mounts, wiring, and power; take them into the field.
• Debug cross-boundary timing, synchronization, and coordinate frame issues.
• Document approaches, results, and known limitations; hand off to production teams.
