Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Lead Software Engineer in the Consumer & Community Banking division to design and build critical technology across Chase AI components, driving end-to-end solutions while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

You will lead with enterprise AI-assisted practices, mentor teams, and collaborate with product and design to deliver scalable, resilient systems in a modern tech stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with focus on scalable applications or agentic systems.
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems using LLMs/SLMs.
• Proficient in Java and/or Python.
• Experience with API design (REST/OpenAPI; gRPC).
• Strong AWS background with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting, solving complex problems.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains algorithms with proper system integration.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications; ensures design constraints are met.
• Analyzes large data sets to drive visualization, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Identifies data patterns to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to AI engineering communities and adopts new technologies.
• Collaborates with product, design, and operations to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Ensures security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in all software solutions.
• Drives adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices with standardized validation.
• Applies SDLC toolchain and AI-assisted automation to improve value.
