Job summary

AfterQuery in San Francisco seeks a Quality Control Lead to own the final checkpoint between raw data and delivered product. You will decide what is good enough to ship, coach contributors, and automate errors that should not occur twice.

You will lead QC efforts, partner with data delivery teams, and drive improvements in quality metrics as the company scales, with equity and competitive compensation in a fast-moving AI environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a technical role with hands-on proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Experience reviewing, debugging, and evaluating code and data for correctness and quality.
• Experience building or leading a quality assurance/quality control function for a technical or data-centric product.
• Exceptional attention to detail and comfort making judgments on ambiguous content.
• Strong leadership and cross-team communication skills; able to provide actionable feedback.

Responsibilities

• Own the final quality checkpoint before datasets are delivered or published.
• Automate and improve QC workflows with infrastructure teams.
• Partner with data delivery teams to identify systemic quality issues and drive corrections.
• Own quality metrics and KPIs; report trends to company leadership.
• Support company-wide initiatives as AfterQuery scales.
