Deloitte’s AI & Data team seeks a Lead AI and Data Science Engineer II to design and implement AI/ML and data engineering solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will help establish data governance and ensure reliable data assets for client missions and digital initiatives.

Responsibilities include deploying and testing models, collaborating with stakeholders, and mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, AI/ML, or ML implementation.
• 3+ years designing and integrating data pipelines, data platforms, or interfaces.
• 2+ years experience with cloud-based or hybrid data/AI environments.
• Willingness to travel approx. 25% depending on project.

Work you'll do

As a Lead AI and Data Science Engineer II on the AI & Data team, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing AI/ML and data engineering solutions that support mission and business objectives
• Integrating data pipelines, platforms, and interfaces across cloud and on-premises environments
• Establishing data management, data quality, and governance processes to improve reliability and usability of data assets
• Supporting deployment, testing, sustainment, and performance optimization of AI/ML models and data solutions

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, artificial intelligence, or machine learning implementation
• 3+ years of experience designing and integrating data pipelines, data platforms, or application interfaces
• 2+ years of experience supporting cloud-based or hybrid data and AI environments
• Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

• 2+ years of experience supporting government technology programs
• 2+ years of experience with structured and unstructured data processing
• 2+ years of experience with model deployment, monitoring, or sustainment
• Experience with data quality, metadata management, or data governance implementation
• Experience with containerized deployment or orchestration technologies
• Experience supporting secure solution delivery in regulated environments
