Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, TX is seeking a Composite Technician II to fabricate aerospace-grade composites for production and development programs. You will work on primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration, with minimal supervision.

The role requires strong technical skill, meticulous craftsmanship, and the ability to mentor junior technicians; experience with layup, bonding, cure, and pneumatic/power tools; familiarity with AS9100 and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of aerospace composite manufacturing experience.
• Advanced layup, bonding, and cure expertise.
• Experience building flight-critical or high-complexity hardware.
• Mentor junior technicians and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience in AS9100 or similar regulated environments.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead fabrication of aerospace-grade composite structures.
• Execute advanced layups and structural builds with minimal supervision.
• Perform vacuum bagging and cure cycle operations.
• Identify scarf back plies and perform structural repairs.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and support root cause analysis.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Mentor and support development of junior technicians.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency.
• Support engineering in tooling and manufacturability discussions.
• Maintain shop organization and PPE compliance.
