Job description

Overview

The Aero Controls NPI Engineer will play a key role at the TS7A State of Art facility in Greenville, SC, supporting new product introduction (NPI) for aero engines. This position focuses on software development for Aero Controls, including design, documentation, and validation through simulations and engine testing. The engineer will share lessons learned and feedback with the NPI team, supporting manufacturing during the NPI validation process to strengthen software development for Aero gas turbine controls.

What you’ll do
  • Act as the focal point for Aero Controls NPI, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead software development for GT NPI projects, including design, documentation, validation, and commissioning.
  • Maintain and update software using lessons learned from previous designs and implementations.
  • Own project execution from ITO to COD for high-risk, complex control system projects.
  • Apply Agile software development methodologies to drive efficient and adaptive project delivery.
  • Define and manage control system requirements, architecture, and top-level design.
  • Ensure system performance, reliability, safety, and maintainability goals are met.
  • Develop and support comprehensive test plans, including system verification, validation, and customer acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate internal and external customer requirements and ensure timely flow-down to engineering teams.
  • Partner with project managers and customers to establish baseline schedules and expectations.
  • Lead customer reviews and discussions to enhance control system solutions and user experience.
  • Promote consistent solutions across all Aero Controls product lines.
  • Demonstrate system-level thinking and technical leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external customers to establish credibility and trust.
  • Manage controls cost and schedule targets in collaboration with functional managers.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with engineering teams and business leaders.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, controls or related Engineering/Science
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in controls execution and software integration and design
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in aero gas turbine (GT) and MarkV1e
  • Background in GE power generation controls design and application
  • Proven success in power generation requisition, customer engagement, and/or EPC collaboration
  • Demonstrated leadership in software development and technical team management
  • Deep understanding of control system architecture and lifecycle
  • Ability to identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with stakeholders and leadership
  • Technical writing expertise for documentation and reporting
  • Ability to independently drive projects to completion
  • Experience working in Agile development environments

For U.S. based candidates only, the base pay range for this position is Total Base Pay $98,400.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive performance bonus of 10% (VIC). This position will stay open on the career website until at least October 30, 2025. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas of the USA.
