Position Summary

To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by working as a team to maintain responsible attitudes, analyzing cytological specimens to provide quality results, and using resources efficiently.

Job Responsibilities
  • Comply with department policies and procedures to provide accurate results and quality products with ≤2 errors per year.
  • Ensure valid results with zero patient or sample identification errors across all phases of laboratory procedures.
  • Apply sample and equipment quality control as per department policy, with ≤5 errors per year.
  • Adhere to "I CARE" values, with no positive disciplinary actions.
  • Manage daily workload efficiently.
Work Experience & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Licensure as required by the State of Florida and in accordance with CLIA guidelines.
  • Certification by ASCP or equivalent accrediting agency.
  • Skills: Excellent human relations, organizational, communication, and computer skills; knowledge of quality assurance and control procedures.
Physical & Other Requirements
  • Primarily sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Work in varied environments with potential travel to different facilities.
  • Respond to call-ins within 30-45 minutes as needed.
