Job Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by working as a team to maintain responsible attitudes, analyzing cytological specimens to provide quality results, and using resources efficiently.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Complies with the department policies, processes, and procedures to provide accurate results, quality products, and services with ≤2 errors per year.
  2. Ensures valid results with zero patient or sample identification errors across all phases of laboratory procedures.
  3. Understands and applies sample quality control and equipment quality control as per department policy, reviewed through logs with ≤5 errors annually.
  4. Adheres to "I CARE" values, with no positive disciplinary actions.
  5. Manages daily workload efficiently and productively.
Work Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Licensure as mandated by the State of Florida and in accordance with CLIA guidelines.
  • Appropriate certification by the ASCP or similar accrediting agency.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
    • Excellent human relations, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
    • Ability to respond to a call within 30-45 minutes if needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Primarily sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Extended periods at a computer or workstation.
  • Light lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to varied indoor environments.
  • Effective communication with others.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination for tasks.
  • Work environment may vary from open to confined spaces.
  • May require travel within and outside the county, possibly using a personal vehicle.
