Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Industrial/Operations Engineer to shape scalable manufacturing systems in Kansas. You will lead teams from concept to ramp-up, drive process optimization, and implement lean methodologies to reduce waste and improve throughput.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in industrial/operations engineering, DFMA awareness, and hands-on time studies, line balancing, and capacity modeling, with a track record in NPI industrialization and Kaizen KPI programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of industrial or operations engineering experience.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
  • Ability to work between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday-Friday.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints.
  • Experience with advanced time studies, line balancing, capacity modeling, and throughput optimization.
  • Experience developing standard work, labor models, and ergonomic solutions.
  • Experience building and maintaining simulation, flow, and capacity models.
  • Experience with cost models, make-vs-buy analyses, and ROI justifications.
  • Knowledge of DFMA, tolerance analysis, error-proofing, and assembly feasibility studies.
  • Experience leading NPI industrialization efforts.
  • Experience with Kaizen events and KPI development.
  • Employment contingent upon successfully passing a background and drug test.

  • Lead advanced time studies, line balancing, capacity modeling, and throughput optimization initiatives.
  • Develop standard work, labor models, and ergonomic solutions for complex manufacturing environments.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints to identify and eliminate operational waste.
  • Build and maintain advanced simulation, flow, and capacity models for data-driven decisions.
  • Create cost models, make-vs-buy analyses, and ROI justifications for capital and process investments.
  • Influence product design through DFMA, tolerance analysis, error-proofing, and assembly feasibility studies.
  • Lead NPI industrialization efforts, including production layouts, material flow, and ramp-up strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events, KPI development, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
