Job summary

KeyCorp is seeking a Lead Accountant within Corporate Controllership to own accounting processes, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses. You will partner across functions to strengthen controls and ensure GAAP compliance, driving process improvements.

Must have 3+ years in accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with audits and SOX controls. Hybrid work option with in-office collaboration at the Amherst, NY location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with close, reconciliations, and controls.
• Experience with GAAP, audits, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with timely deliverables.
• Investigate variances, root causes, and improve end-to-end processes.
