Job description

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid Airframe & Powerplant license required or PEMCO Repairman's Certificate.
  3. Five (5) years of experience in heavy aircraft maintenance, preferably with an airline and/or MRO company.
  4. Thorough working knowledge of all forms and documents supporting heavy maintenance, including company policies, FARs, ADs, Service Bulletins, and Maintenance Manuals.
  5. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings.
  6. Proficiency in using tools, gauges, instruments, etc., necessary for the duties.
  7. Understanding of hazardous material handling and disposal related to the job.
  8. Thorough knowledge of work within a specific classification or specialized operation.
  9. Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions.
  10. Leadership qualities, including cooperation and teamwork skills.
  11. Capability to perform high-quality work efficiently, and to lead and direct others.
  12. Ability to complete all assignments with minimal supervision.
  13. Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, technical orders, operating procedures, and directives.
Major Responsibility Areas and Duties
  1. Perform work within his classification for the majority of working hours.
  2. Lead, assign, and direct work according to employee classifications.
  3. Instruct others in proper methods and procedures when required.
  4. Review work in progress, ensure quality, and timely completion.
  5. Address and resolve common difficulties encountered in job tasks.
  6. Maintain records related to job assignments.
  7. Ensure the satisfactory completion of work by assigned employees.
  8. Refer issues outside his authority to his Supervisor.
  9. Not authorized to recommend employment, transfer, promotion, or disciplinary actions.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned necessary for daily operations.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
  1. Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
  2. Ability to climb and work from ladders, stands, and heights.
  3. Work with hands extended overhead.
  4. Correctable near and far vision.
  5. Ability to hear conversationally with hearing aid.
  6. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  7. Handle small parts and operate hand tools properly.
