South Carolina First Steps in Lancaster, SC is seeking a patient Lead Teacher for the 4K program, to guide developmentally-appropriate activities and support healthy physical, social, and emotional growth in young children.

The role requires at least a two-year degree in early childhood, background check clearance, and ability to use computer applications; preferred bachelor’s degree and CPR/First Aid. The position emphasizes collaboration with families and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in early childhood or related field and progress toward a four-year program.
• Ability to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Registry background check.
• Experience using computer applications for tasks.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an early childhood or related field (preferred).
• CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).
• Experience in a play-based environment (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Follow all employer policies and procedures at all times
• Create and implement weekly lesson plans in accordance with the First Steps 4K approved curriculum
• Keep parents and families updated on their students’ daily activities and progress
• Communicate with families on a daily or weekly basis through writing or face-to-face.
• Foster a classroom environment of safety and respect
• Perform daily cleaning routines to keep facilities sanitary and safe
• Attend all required First Steps 4K and SC DSS trainings and obtain required continuing education hours.
