Formlabs in Boston is seeking a Senior 3D Print Optimization Engineer to push the performance of our SLA and SLS platforms, delivering faster, more reliable prints for customers worldwide.

The role involves designing experiments, root-cause analysis across mechanics, fluids, software, chemistry, optics, and electronics, and delivering practical improvements that can be commercialized across product lines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years post-graduate experience in relevant fields.
• Experience in test design where results impact product performance.
• Shipped a product or process to end users.
• Are focused on the customer and have strong attention to detail.
• Willing to cross discipline boundaries to solve problems.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in any science/engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Push the capabilities of our SLA & SLS 3D printing platforms.
• Architect 3d printing optimization methodologies for better performance.
• Drive root cause analysis across mechanics, fluids, software, chemistry, optics, electronics, thermodynamics, and customer behavior.
• Design efficient experiments that tease out underlying system behavior.
• Tackle multi-disciplinary problems across product lines.
• Develop and commercialize solutions that improve customer print performance.
