Job summary

NVIDIA seeks a senior mapping/vision engineer to build planet-scale maps from crowdsourced vehicle data. You will develop 3D reconstruction, pose estimation, and multi-view geometry for large-scale road scenes, and implement map fusion and evaluation tools with robust handling of noise and dynamic environments.

Work with perception, localization, and autonomy teams to deliver reliable map products for self-driving platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience with large-scale sensor data (camera video, GPS/IMU, lidar/radar) and multi-view geometry.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and building production-quality software systems.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable mapping systems using crowdsourced perception data and multi-camera video.
• Develop 3D reconstruction, structure-from-motion, pose estimation, and multi-view geometry algorithms.
• Build map fusion and change-detection methods for noisy observations and dynamic scenes.
• Create C++ production systems and offline pipelines turning fleet data into map products.
• Develop evaluation methods for map accuracy, freshness, and coverage.
• Create visualization, debugging, and triage tools for reconstruction quality and localization errors.
• Collaborate with perception, localization, simulation, planning, and infrastructure teams.
• Improve map scale, fidelity, freshness, and reliability from real-world data.
