Job summary

Hydro, Inc. in Chicago’s West Loop is seeking a Precision Pump Rebuild Machining Foreman to lead the 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) in the Aftermarket Pump Repair Shop.

You will own production flow across machining, assembly, inspection, and welding to meet delivery dates. The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting, strong leadership and communication, and a background in manual machining and welding.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial aftermarket setting.
• Experience in an equipment repair shop, preferably pumps or power generation.
• Background in manual machining and welding.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Good mathematical ability and print-reading proficiency.
• ERP experience and MS Office proficiency are plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2nd shift operations (2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) in the Aftermarket Pump Repair Shop.
• Own production flow across machining, assembly, inspection, and welding to meet delivery dates.
• Drive quality, safety, throughput, and communication across the shop.
• Plan shop activities based on customer requirements; issue detailed job status reports.
• Control and monitor WIP across in-house departments to meet or exceed goals.
• Coordinate daily with the Shop Manager and hand off in-process work to the next shift.
• Collaborate with Engineers to resolve shop-floor issues.
• Review drawings/blueprints; coach team members on requirements and methods.
• Execute scope of work; ensure purchasing receives accurate material needs and that materials are on site prior to job start.
• Lead adherence to safety guidelines; train others and model safe behaviors.
• Arrange people and resources to handle emergency weekend work when required.
• Tackle repair issues while demonstrating strong leadership and communication.
