Responsibilities
- Lead the game development team: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the game development team. Collaborate with artists, designers, and other developers to define game mechanics, features, and project requirements. Mentor and provide support to junior developers, conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback. Coordinate tasks and ensure timely delivery of high-quality game projects. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the team.
- Develop interactive and engaging games: Utilize JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to develop games with high interactivity and engagement. Implement mathematics algorithms for collision detection, physics simulations, and other game mechanics. Optimize game performance for different platforms and devices. Stay up-to-date with emerging game development technologies and techniques, and research and implement them as appropriate. Integrate game environments with back-end systems and APIs (nice-to-have).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with artists, designers, and other developers to create visually appealing game assets and graphics. Coordinate with back-end developers to integrate game functionality with server-side systems. Collaborate with QA/testers to ensure high-quality game performance and resolve any issues.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in game development. Apply software engineering principles and design patterns in game development. Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows. Apply strong problem-solving and debugging skills to identify and resolve issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field.
- Relevant coursework in Mathematics for Game Developers and Physics for Game Developers.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a JavaScript Game Developer or similar role, with demonstrated experience in leading game development projects.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Phaser and CreateJS - MUST HAVE
- Strong understanding of game development principles, best practices, and mathematics for game development, including collision detection algorithms, physics simulations for velocity and motion, vector and matrix operations, and trigonometry and calculus for game mechanics.
- Experience with game engines/frameworks such as Phaser, CreateJS, or similar.
- Good understanding of CSS3 and JS Animation frameworks like GreenSock Animation Platform (GSAP) or Anime.js to support 2D game development

- Knowledge of software engineering principles and design patterns.
