Job description

Leachman Cattle is a progressive beef seedstock producer using precision technology to improve cattle. We lead the industry in producing profitable, tasty, and sustainable beef. Leachman is currently seeking a seasonal full-time Feed Truck Driver to join our winning team in Meriden, WY! This Team Member is responsible for delivering feed and other agricultural products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Operate a company-owned feed truck to deliver feed.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment daily and document checks.
  • Unload feed at the correct destination and correct bin
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork accurately and promptly (electronic logs, scale tickets, physical forms, etc.)
  • Safely perform all duties and comply with all company safety policies.
  • Comply with all biosecurity rules.
  • Report truck and equipment maintenance issues immediately to your direct supervisor, and schedule preventative maintenance with the mill manager on a routine basis
  • Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage immediately to the mill manager.
  • Ensure the interior and exterior of the truck remain as clean as conditions allow.
  • Perform cleaning duties listed out in standard work and as requested by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of driving experience preferred but may be willing to train the right individual.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude a plus.
  • Ability to handle “on the road” situations that develop from time to time (mud, snow, ice)
  • Must be able to lift up 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work with and around a wide range of chemicals and different feed ingredients.
  • Ability to work at 15’ heights and climb ladders occasionally
  • Will work in wet and/or humid conditions, and around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and cold.
  • Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally
