Job summary
Nashville General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Post Partum (LDRP). The role provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across labor through postpartum and newborn care, supporting a strong mother-baby dyad.
Requires TN RN license, BLS/ACLS/NRP, and 2 years L&D experience preferred. The RN will collaborate with physicians, midwives, lactation consultants, and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN/Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Tennessee.
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; fetal monitoring certs a plus.
- AWHONN fetal heart monitoring cert or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
- 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess laboring mothers and newborns, monitor fetal status, vital signs, pain management, and identify needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans with the healthcare team.
- Provide continuous labor support and patient education on care options.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections; maintain sterile fields and administer meds as ordered.
- Support postpartal recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and safe feeding practices.
