Job summary

WR Systems in Norfolk, VA is seeking an LCS Navigation Technician to provide technical support for navigation systems aboard Littoral Combat Ships, including MK39, AN/WSN-7, NAVIGAT, MARINS, and related equipment. The role covers CASREPs, system installations, SOVT, troubleshooting, and shipboard testing.

Candidates should have formal electronics training, multiple years of Navy navigation systems experience, and installation skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Formal electronics training in electronics or communications, including a 4-year electronics apprenticeship program, or military Class A/B schooling is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pre-Deployment Grooms (PDAs), system operations, software loads, configuration updates, troubleshooting, system testing, and SOVT.
• Compile technical data and prepare reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations related to shipboard issues for the ISEA.
• Troubleshoot, test, diagnose, and repair shipboard navigation equipment and systems.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting equipment performance, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
• Provide navigation systems SME support for development and review of APLs, technical manuals, training curricula, MIPs, MRCs, and test procedures.
• Prepare and submit Daily Status Reports (DSRs) and Weekly Status Reports (WSRs), ensuring issues are reported within 24 hours of occurrence.
• Attend daily shipboard status meetings to document accomplishments, communicate technical findings, and report outstanding issues.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Formal electronics training from a technical school, military Class A or B school in electronics or communications, or completion of a four (4)-year electronics apprenticeship program
