Job summary

PathGroup in Nashville, TN is seeking a senior science professional to oversee the Chemistry department workflow and ensure adherence to safety and quality procedures. You will supervise reagent usage, instrument training, and training documentation while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires leadership in LC/MS-MS assay development and validation, quality management, and collaboration across lab teams. A strong background in LCMS and regulatory standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• National ASCP certification as MT or applicable, preferred.
• Maintains ongoing education to stay current in laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific oversight of timely selection, development and validation of LC/MS-MS assays.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations and quality systems.
• Support Quality Management with SOP development, data trending and reporting.
• Implement and maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs.
• Track QC lot changes, expirations and shipment processes per CAP.
• Review equipment reports to ensure efficient operation and calibration programs.
• Maintain continuity of department procedures, validations, and inspection readiness.
• Foster ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment with clear communication.
• Assist in establishing short and long-term departmental plans.
• Adhere to Corporate Compliance and Privacy/Security policies.
• Write SOPs and train Medical Technologists on instrumentation and workflow.
• Monitor LCMS consumables and inventory management.
