Job summary

Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas seeks a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor to assess residents and outpatients, develop treatment plans and provide individual counseling. The role includes coordinating schedules, facilitating group and family sessions, and promoting recovery initiatives within the New Hope Healing Grounds program.

The counselor will maintain licensure, stay updated on developments in substance abuse treatment, and participate in weekly meetings, court hearings if needed,

Qualifications

• Must hold a TX LCDC license and maintain licensure.
• Experience with CBT, DSM-V criteria and counseling Core Functions.
• Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Strong communication, record-keeping and confidentiality adherence.

Responsibilities

• Review psychosocial and trauma history to devise treatment plans for residents and outpatients.
• Provide individual counseling and assist with educational classes on related topics.
• Orient residents/outpatients to program philosophy, rules, schedules and plans.
• Facilitate educational presentations and group/family counseling sessions.
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in substance abuse and LCDC licensure.
• Review histories with DSM-V diagnoses to inform treatment plans.
• Conduct counseling and document progress notes.
• Coordinate resident/outpatient program schedules and discharge planning.
• Participate in weekly staff/treatment team meetings and community activities.
• Promote the program at community events and collaborate with other departments.
