Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a technologist to perform a range of laboratory procedures under supervision. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology and MT certification (new grads may be hired without certification but must earn it within 180 days).

Responsibilities include quality control, instrument calibration, and adherence to CAP guidelines. Strong teamwork and communication are essential in a busy clinical lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or related field. No experience required.
• Licenses and Certifications (MT) Medical Technologist Certification; new graduates may be hired without certification but must earn it within 180 days.
• PhD may be accepted in lieu of MT certification for technologists working in Special Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to complex laboratory procedures under supervision.
• Adheres to CAP guidelines and lab policies; documents results and notifications.
• Maintains instrument start-up/shutdown, calibrations and maintenance as required.
• Ensures quality control and proficiency testing; optimizes workflow and productivity.
• Mentors students and laboratory personnel as required.
