Role Description

This full-time, on-site LBS1 Certified Teacher role is based in Posen, IL and focuses on supporting learners with diverse academic and behavioral needs. The teacher will design and implement differentiated lesson plans aligned with IEP goals and state standards, deliver direct instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings, and adapt materials to meet individual learning profiles. Daily responsibilities include progress monitoring, data collection, and collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support. The teacher will participate in IEP meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Teaching and Education, with experience supporting learners with special needs.
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including creating differentiated instructional materials and implementing targeted interventions.
• Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) certification in Illinois and compliance with state teaching licensure requirements.
• Experience interpreting and implementing IEPs, conducting progress monitoring, and using data to guide instruction.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and maintain an organized, inclusive learning environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced degree or additional endorsements are beneficial.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, team-based setting and commitment to ongoing professional development.
