Michael Page is seeking a Site Manager to lead field operations on an industrial construction site. You will interpret architectural blueprints, establish control points, and perform precise layout using RTS, GPS, and laser levels. The role requires union membership and experience implementing plans on site.

Strong collaboration with project managers, field crews, and VDC teams is essential to maintain safety, quality, and schedule adherence while delivering complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural blueprints and structural drawings.
• Establish control points, grid lines, and vertical/horizontal networks from master survey data.
• Physically mark building corners, column lines, and utility stub-ups using RTS, GPS, and laser levels.
• Verify formwork, anchor bolts, and concrete embeds match design tolerances.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies between field conditions and digital plans to avoid rework.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, field crews, and VDC teams to keep schedules on track.

Interpreting Plans: Read and analyze architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and digital 3D/VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) models. Establishing Control Points: Set primary site benchmarks, grid lines, and vertical/horizontal control networks from master survey data Field Marking and Layout: Use advanced measurement tools-like Robotic Total Stations (RTS), GPS units, and laser levels-to physically mark building corners, column lines, partition walls, and utility stub-ups Verifying As-Built Accuracy: Check formwork, anchor bolts, structural steel alignment, and concrete embedments to ensure they match design tolerances Troubleshooting Discrepancies: Identify conflicts between field conditions and digital plans, resolving issues before costly construction mistakes or rework happen. Team Collaboration: Coordinate daily with project managers, field crews, trade contractors, and VDC teams to keep construction sequences aligned and on schedule

The Successful Applicant

• Experience as a union carpenter preferred
• Experience with heavy industrial experience preferred
• Experience with Trimble software preferred
• Experience with Trim Line preferred
• Experience taking a set of plans and implementing them into the ground required
• Willing to be a part of the union required
• Experience as a Layout Engineer preferred
