Job summary

TRU LAND Equipment in Indiana is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain John Deere lawn and garden equipment and other brands. You will work as part of a team, using manuals and dealer training to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

You may mentor apprentices, participate in clinics, and keep tools, vehicles, and inventory in good condition while adhering to safety standards and time tracking requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
• 1+ years service/repair experience; performance metrics preferred.
• Perform repairs per Technical Manual with limited re-work.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in ag/turf equipment.
• Operate vehicles/tools for diagnostics; basic computer skills required.
• Experience with Service ADVISOR or similar diagnostic software.
• Team-oriented, able to communicate effectively; valid driver’s license; forklift preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere lawn and garden equipment and other brands as needed.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required for duties.
• Participate in training and dealer-led programs to develop skills.
• Conduct or support customer clinics and maintain product knowledge.
• Mentor apprentices and students as requested.
• Maintain clean workspace and ensure safety rules are followed.
• Record billable time, track materials, and complete required reports promptly.
• Collaborate with team to meet performance metrics and customer expectations.
