Job description

The Lawn Care Technician will manage an assigned territory of residential and commercial properties providing timely professional lawn care treatments and high-quality customer service to Joshua Tree clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete daily assigned work in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients
  • Build professional and trusting relationships with clients
  • Prepare truck daily by ensuring proper product selection and quantity
  • Monitor and restock truck's inventory of flags, stakes, and promotional materials
  • Identify and diagnose a variety of common lawn-related problems
  • Recommend treatments to clients to improve overall health of lawn
  • Operate all assigned equipment safely
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections
  • Generates leads for new and existing clients regarding plant health care, tree care, or pest control
  • Meet or exceed daily production goal
  • Perform or schedule vehicle or equipment servicing
  • Complies with all safety rules regarding vehicle and equipment operation
  • Completes all paperwork and product information accurately for proper recordkeeping
  • Meets or exceeds performance goals as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent ability to be self-motivated and driven
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong ability to be organized and efficient
  • Ability to utilize lawn care equipment including but not limited to spreaders, ride-on spreaders, and liquid sprayers
  • Ability to identify and diagnose lawn care issues
  • Ability to identify hazardous situations
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if necessary

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Pass DOT CFR-49 Physical Exam, as required
  • Experience in lawn care application services, is preferred
  • PA Pesticide Applicators License in CORE and CAT 7, is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs at one time, repeatedly throughout the day
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, walk up steep hills while pushing or dragging equipment
