Job summary

ABC Home & Commercial Services is hiring a Lawn Care Tech to service properties in the greater San Antonio area. This role requires you to apply turf treatments, diagnose lawn issues, and operate equipment safely under supervision.

You will interact with customers and ensure service contracts are met, with a focus on reliability and professionalism. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, potential for year-round work, and opportunities for skill development, with a sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver's license issued at least five years prior to application date.
• Excellent communication & customer service skills are required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizers and chemicals to turf per safety guidelines.
• Diagnose turf diseases and pests and propose treatments.
• Learn and operate equipment safely under Crew Leader supervision.
• Maintain professional attitude with customers and colleagues.
• Understand customers' expectations and service contracts.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday* as needed)

Hours: Start to finish job, so depends on the last job completed.

Sign-On Bonus: Based on certifications below (not available for rehires).

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Must hold a valid driver's license with an issue date of at least five years prior to the date of this application.
• Lawn Care Tech experience a plus but not required
• Demonstrates proficiency in fundamental mathematical concepts.
• Able to comprehend and follow written communication effectively.
• An individual that is serious, sincere and cooperative.
• Able to manage specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence.
• Excellent communication & customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure and still maintain good composure.
• Experience working with routes, service stops, and meeting deadlines of your service route.
• Dependable and self-motivated with desire to work year-round.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work inside and/or outside for long periods of time, sometimes in extreme temperatures.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure the proper treatment and application of fertilizers and other chemicals to control the suspected or diagnosed disease to stimulate the growth of turf and/or to prevent and control the growth of weeds on the turf of the property.
• Gain understanding and knowledge of various regional types of turf and common diseases and infestations.
• Diagnose problems or diseases with the turf on residential and commercial properties and proposes treatment.
• Learn and use all equipment in an efficient and safe manner as directed by the Crew Leader.
• Become familiar with customers' expectations and service contracts.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times with customers, fellow employees and supervisors.
