Job summary

Grass Busters, Inc. is seeking a lawn care technician to deliver quality service to contracted properties in a timely and safe manner.

You will report to the Crew Lead, prepare equipment daily, and perform mowing, trimming, edging, and related landscape tasks while maintaining safety and communication with the crew. The role requires physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in various weather, and pass background and drug checks.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift/carry at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass criminal background check.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and, if necessary, post-accident drug test.
• Able to stoop, stand, and bend for 4 hours or more a day.
• Able to work outside in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Report on time at regular start time assigned by the Crew Lead or Operations Manager.
• Daily preparation of equipment.
• Load/Unload all tools, gas, and other necessary equipment/materials. Secure all equipment safely.
• Perform and manage landscape and maintenance tasks on client’s properties.
• Work with the Crew Lead to ensure work is done to contracted specs.
• Perform mowing, trimming, blowing, debris removal, weeding, edging, hedging, raking, mulch installation.
• Operate all required equipment safely (mowers, trimmers, etc.).
• Diagnose basic problems with lawn equipment and report to crew lead.
• Maintain safe working environment (proper PPE, secured equipment).

Summary:

The lawn care technician’s main responsibility is to provide quality service that meets and/or exceeds customer and management expectations in a timely and safe manner to all Grass Busters contracted lawn customers. The lawn care technician position requires attention to detail and the ability to communicate any issues or concerns to the crew lead. The lawn care technician must also be aware of safety and maintenance needs of the lawn care equipment. All Grass Busters employees must possess a friendly, customer service minded attitude and must always conduct themselves in a professional manor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report on time at regular start time assigned by the Crew Lead or Operations Manager.
• Daily preparation of equipment.
• Load/Unload all tools, gas, and other necessary equipment/materials. Secure all equipment safely.
• Perform and manage landscape and maintenance tasks on client’s properties.
• Work in conjunction with the Crew Lead to ensure the work contracted is implemented efficiently and according to the contracted specifications.
• Perform all tasks of operations including, but not limited to mowing, line trimming, blowing, leaf and debris removal, weeding, edging, hedging, raking, and mulch installation.
• Able to operate all required equipment safely including, but not limited to zero turn mowers, walk behind mowers, push mowers, backpack mowers, weed eaters, and trimmers.
• Able to do basic diagnosis of problems that arise with lawn equipment and report problems or concerns to crew lead.
• Ensure safe working environment (equipment functioning properly, equipment securely stored and tied down during transportation, appropriate PPE used).

Responsibilities to Safety:

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and customers at all times.
• Report safety-related accidents and incidents immediately to the crew lead.
• Operate equipment and vehicles in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
• Handle all equipment and tools in a responsible manner.
