Job summary

The Osage Nation is seeking a Tribal Police Officer for field duty and coordination of public safety on the Osage Nation Reservation. You will be responsible for reporting, documentation, and enforcing laws to maintain peace and security within the Osage Nation community.

Requirements include 21+, a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), 1 year law enforcement experience, and CLEET or IPA certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Requires 1 year of experience in Law Enforcement.
• Peace Officer Certification by OK CLEET or IPA required.
• If certified in another State, must become certified in Oklahoma within 6 months.
• Must pass a background check per 25 CFR 63, PL 101-630 and PL 101-647.
• Must be able to obtain a Special Law Enforcement Commission through the BIA, OJS.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• No felony or domestic abuse convictions.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must react quickly and effectively to stressful situations.
• Must pass a physical and a physical agility test.
• Must pass a psychological evaluation.
• Must work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must work independently with high integrity and ethics.
• Knowledge of corrections, identification, warrants, investigations, and training.
• Ability to use MS Office and police reporting software.
