Job summary

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Law Enforcement Deputy to perform a wide range of duties including patrol, traffic stops, arrests, and reporting. The role requires meeting state, federal, and agency standards and participating in ongoing testing and background screening.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Must have a high school diploma OR 60 credit hours or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Administering the laws of Sarasota County, the State of Florida and the United States in a fair, impartial and professional manner.
• Patrolling areas and conducting traffic stops.
• Arresting suspects and informing them of their rights.
• Preparing reports and affidavits and supporting investigations.
• Maintain order, respond to calls, and provide assistance to patrol deputies and detectives.

Education

Associates degree or 60 college credits
