Job summary

CompanyCam, Inc. in Lincoln, NE seeks a 1L or 2L Juris Doctor student for a Summer 2027 Law Clerk (Intern) role. You will support contract review, negotiation, privacy, cybersecurity, and productCounseling under the Corporate Counsel. This is a hands-on internship highlighting AI-enabled contract work while learning legal practice.

The role requires in-office presence three days a week in Lincoln during Summer 2027; Spring 2027 offers remote or in-person for ~5 hours weekly.

• Conduct legal research and communicate findings for attorney review
• Leverage AI tools to speed up research while ensuring accuracy
• Collaborate with Product Team to provide timely legal input
• Prepare documentation and contribute to contract review processes

The Role

We’re looking for a Law Clerk (Intern) to join our Legal Team at a fast-growing tech start-up and get hands-on exposure across the full range ofin-house legal work. You’ll support contract review and negotiation, privacy, cybersecurity, and product counseling, reporting directly to our Corporate Counsel.

This is a chance to work alongside a lean legal team at an expanding company and see what it actually takes to support that growth — not just observe it.

We are seeking a 1L or 2L student currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program to join us full-time during Summer 2027. The ideal candidate could also intern ~5 hours a week during the Spring 2027 semester.

Location: Candidates must be available to work 3 days a week in our Lincoln, NE office during Summer 2027. Remote or in-person work during the Spring 2027 semester is acceptable.

What You’ll Do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements

• Help build and improve contract review processes, including the use of AI tools to speed things up

• Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of CompanyCam’s privacy and cybersecurity compliance programs

• Research privacy and cybersecurity compliance topics to help strengthen those programs

• Support our Product Team through product counseling with research and practical, business-focused recommendations

• Conduct legal research across a range of topics and communicate findings clearly for attorney and business review

• Use AI to speed up research and review, while confirming accuracy along the way

What You’ll Bring

Required

• 1L or 2L student currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively within the legal team and with stakeholders across the organization

• Business-minded judgment with the ability to evaluate legal risk and understand commercial objectives

• Strong legal research ability

• Ability to take ownership of and manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Willingness to learn, take on new projects, and seek feedback

Preferred

• Prior internship, clerkship, or relevant coursework in commercial contracting, privacy, or cybersecurity

• Experience working as part of a company, in a legal or business role

• Availability to work in-person at CompanyCam HQ in Lincoln at least part-time during Summer 2027

This is an hourly position at CompanyCam. Pay for this role is $25/hour.
