The 2nd Judicial District has three (3) openings for Law Clerk 1 within the district. These Clerkships will start in August 2025.
The Law Clerk position is a great opportunity for law school graduates seeking to gain practical, hands-on experience, applying your knowledge to assist with cases being investigated and litigated by the State of Iowa courts. This opportunity will also enhance your knowledge and understanding of the litigation life cycle as you assist with the public, judges, attorneys and government officials in a variety of situations and circumstances. Employees in this class perform research and administrative functions for judges of the district court. We are looking to hire for this role to start in August 2025.
Location: Domicile will be determined by successful candidates. Travel will be required throughout the district.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM
The starting salary for a Law Clerk 1 is $26.55 per hour / $2124.00 biweekly, on an 80-hour per pay period basis.
This is intended to be a one-year clerkship opportunity. Depending on funding, availability, and performance, this clerkship may be extended up to an additional year.
