Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with case preparation, reviewing documents, organizing evidence, and preparing case files.
• Review and analyze contracts and legal documents.

• Attend client meetings, depositions, court proceedings, and other proceedings as appropriate.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Assist with case strategy and provide legal research and analysis under supervision.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk / Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This position is ideal for a recent law school graduate who is currently preparing for or awaiting the results of the Bar Examination.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys and gain hands‑on experience across all stages of legal matters. The position will initially be structured as a Law Clerk role, with the opportunity to transition into an Associate Attorney upon successful admission to the Bar.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on a variety of legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, including reviewing documents, organizing evidence, and preparing case files.

Experience/Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Recent law school graduate who is currently studying for the Bar Examination or awaiting Bar Examination results .
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Prior legal internship, clerkship, externship, or law firm experience preferred but not required.
• Admission to the Michigan Bar required for transition to Associate Attorney.

Physical Actions/Environment

Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance, ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others; standing, sitting and typing for extended periods; and lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs. Ability to frequently communicate with others in‑person, on the phone/virtually, and in writing. Ability to read, understand, process and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions.

Starting Salary: $27-$30 hourly

Upon successfully passing the bar examination and meeting all applicable licensing requirements, the Law Clerk will transition into an Associate Attorney role with a starting salary of $100,000 per year.

Schedule

We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5. We do our best to support individual preferences, though schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork.
