About the role:
We are seeking a Kitchen Manager to join our team at our LaVista location. You will be responsible for providing customers with a memorable experience in a one-of-a-kind venue that will incorporate Hail Varsity and Hurrdat Media properties into the daily activations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, deadline-driven, and has strong attention to detail. You must also have exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines while positively motivating the team. Authenticity and follow-through are a must. You must be willing to own your wins and losses and share them to make yourself, our clients, and our team better.
This is a full-time exempt position, cannot be performed remotely, and will have hours typical for a full-service restaurant and bar which may not be limited to 40 hours per week or corporate business hours.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Managing and ordering inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
Hiring new staff and providing training
Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times
Working with General Manager to develop and maintain the restaurant menu
Pricing menu items in collaboration with the General Manager
Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff are maintaining sanitation levels
Creating schedules for all kitchen staff
Tracking kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste
Managing labor costs
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven work experience as a lead or Kitchen Manager
Leadership skills
Attention to detail
Financial understanding relating to kitchen operations
Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
Ability to effectively communicate with the kitchen staff
Valid ServSafe Certification
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work is performed in a typical restaurant environment.
Will lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds using safe and proper lifting methods.
