Laundry Worker - Central Wisconsin Center
The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for full-time Laundry Workers . CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the north side of Madison.
These positions will work6:00 am - 4:30 pm, 4 days a week. Days off will be rotating, with every other weekend off. The positions may require occasional early morning or evening work and some holidays.
As a Laundry Worker, you will perform duties in the laundry washroom, folding room and the central linen area. These duties include sorting, folding, countingand weighing shelf linen, loading linen carts for delivery and operating washing and drying machines.
The starting pay is $16.18 per hour, plus excellent benefits. There is a $.80 night differential and a $.80 weekend differential, which will be combined for $1.60 when working nights on weekends. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. These positions are in pay schedule and range 03/08.
All applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
These positions have physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 pounds, twisting, bending, crawling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for these positions, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
