Job Summary:

Join our team at the Department of Economic Security (DES) to help Arizonans thrive. We are looking for dedicated individuals committed to service, community, and teamwork. We are seeking a Laundry Worker 2 for the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), which provides high-quality, flexible services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, promoting independence and community engagement.

Applicants must not be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, nor have a principal interest or close family interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and must not be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Job Duties:

  • Load, operate, and unload commercial washers, extractors, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
  • Sort and weigh soiled clothing and linen, identify stains, and determine cleaning formulas.
  • Perform minor maintenance on laundry equipment and monitor for maintenance needs.
  • Clean work areas, maintain supply inventories, and keep work records.
  • Assist with picking up soiled laundry and delivering clean laundry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, occupational hazards, stain removal, washroom operations, textiles, and fabrics.
  • Skills in operating commercial laundry equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, perform mathematical calculations, establish work relationships, apply leadership principles, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card.
  • Background checks including Department of Child Safety and Adult Protective Services.
  • Post-offer medical/physical exam and ability to accommodate restrictions.
  • Successful completion of E-Verify.
  • Driver’s license if required for the position.
