Job Summary:

The Laundry Worker is responsible for ensuring that residents and staff have access to clean, well-maintained linens and clothing items. This role is responsible for various aspects of laundry operations and will perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens, towels, personal clothing, and other laundry items according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that all items meet quality standards and are returned promptly to the appropriate departments or residents.
  • Handle different types of fabrics and garments with care to prevent damage or shrinkage during laundering processes.

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on laundry equipment, such as cleaning lint traps, checking water filters (where applicable), and reporting any malfunctions to maintenance staff.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards set by WEL, local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA guidelines and infection control protocols. Including reporting safety or other hazards to supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laundry area ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Follow safety protocols while handling cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and working in resident areas utilizing the proper PPE.
  • Ensure chemicals are properly secured, labeled, and used appropriately.
Qualifications

Previous experience in commercial laundry or housekeeping work preferred.

Education:

Some schooling or equivalent work experience preferred
