Job summary

Sanford Health in the United States is seeking a Laundry Aide to perform day-to-day tasks in maintaining a clean environment within a healthcare facility. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean environment in a health care setting.
  • Handle laundry including sorting, washing, chemical application, and water temperature.
  • Follow location standard processes and policies for tasks.
  • Follow infection prevention guidelines when handling contaminated laundry.
  • Participate in collection, sorting, handling, storage, and distribution of linens.
  • Collect dirty linens from wards and distribute clean linens.
  • Wash, dry, fold linens and label properly.
  • Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
  • Remain on feet for the majority of shift.

Compensation: Salary Range: $15.00 - $22.50

Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization.
  • Work independently or as part of a team ensuring the use of equipment, methods, and techniques to handle laundry safely and appropriately such as sorting, washing, chemical application, or water temperature.
  • Complete assigned tasks based on location standard processes and policies.
  • Follow infection prevention guidelines when handling contaminated laundry according to organizational and healthcare industry laundry standards.
  • Participate in laundry collection and sorting, as well as handling, storage, and distribution of clean laundry properly based on location standard processes and policies.
  • Collect dirty linens (gowns, sheets, towels, blankets, personal clothing) from wards, rooms, and medical offices; distribute clean and disinfected linens.
  • Wash, dry, fold linens, sort and fold clothing, and complete the proper labeling process for the designated health care organization.
  • Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment of a healthcare organization.
  • Wear all proper protective equipment (PPE) as outlined in the location standard processes and policies.
  • Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials; lift and/or move up to 30-50 lbs, push/pull up to 500 lbs on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
  • Remain on feet for majority of shift; may be exposed to noise from equipment.
  • Work may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays depending on patient needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer, prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning is helpful.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30-50 lbs and push/pull up to 500 lbs.
