Job summary

Garden Spot Village is seeking a part-time Laundry Specialist for the 7am-3pm shift every other weekend. You will manage laundry processing, from sorting to finishing, while upholding infection control and resident privacy policies.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork to support residents and staff in a caring community setting. Benefits include health coverage and 401K matching.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
• Good physical and mental health, sense of responsibility, and high degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to cooperate with others.

Responsibilities

• Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential.
• Follows Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
• Weighs soiled laundry loads.
• Checks and cleans equipment for proper functioning.
• Sorting and Washing: Uses PPE as required.
• Sorts soiled articles by type, color, contamination.
• Removes stains as needed.
• Washes soiled laundry, entering the correct wash program.
• Reports equipment defects to the supervisor.
• Removes PPE and washes hands before leaving soiled linen area.
• Dries wet laundry load, removes dry linens, sorts and folds/hangs.
• Linen Distribution: loads carts and transports laundry.
• Prints and affixes resident name labels to personal garments.
• Follows waste disposal procedures per policy.
• Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction to the supervisor.
• Attends department and corporate in-service training programs.
• Handles clean and soiled laundry per infection control policies.
• Distributes clothing to resident rooms per theft loss program.
• Changes chemical drums.
• Assumes QA duties as assigned.
• Works cooperatively with volunteers, residents, and staff.
• Performs all duties in a cooperative, timely and professional manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information
