Brief Job Description:
The Laundry Worker II position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial laundry equipment and performing complex laundry work in a commercial laundry. The Laundry Worker II assists with overseeing the laundry process in the soil sort and dryer areas. Responsibilities include sorting, classifying, weighing and recording of weights, loading/unloading of Continuous Batch Washer (CBW), press, shuttle, and large 300# dryers, small commercial washer/extractors and dryers, flatwork ironing, unloading conveyor, folding, preparing clothes and linens for delivery, and routine cleaning of work areas. This role involves both light and heavy physical labor and requires adherence to all HHSC, Facility, and Regional Laundry procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
Paid or unpaid experience in performing laundry services; or Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. 6 months experience in commercial laundry operation preferred.
Additional Information:
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment at a state-operated facility.
Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position.
