Schedule

Part-Time: 16 Hours/Biweekly

Hours: 5:00am - 1:30pm; 1 Day/Week

Every Other Saturday and Holiday Rotation, Required

General Summary

Collects soiled laundry and distributes clean linens to user departments. Maintains stock levels on nursing floors. Follows established procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Collects soiled laundry from various areas of the hospital and delivers to soiled linen rooms in the linen services area.
  • Answers telephone, takes messages and/or linen orders by telephone or fax. Provides accurate information or forwards callers to appropriate resource.
  • Examines articles for stains, tears or other imperfections.
  • Counts and stacks linens for distribution or places them in supply storage. Reports linen supply shortages to linen manager.
  • Delivers linens/scrubs to user departments according to preestablished par levels and schedules. Distributes emergency supplies as needed.
  • Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks in carts for distribution on/off campus.
  • Cleans equipment and work area at end of work day. Alerts supervisor to malfunctioning/defective equipment, and replacement of worn out wearing apparel.
  • Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files. Enters daily data in the Linen Helper computer program.
  • Washes, dries, folds and delivers patient room curtains on a daily basis or when any soiled linen is delivered to wash room.
  • Assists HCSC delivery driver with loading and unloading of clean and soiled linen carts.

  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • None Required
  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
