Brown University Health seeks a seasoned Environmental Services and Laundry leader to plan and organize housekeeping, laundry, and linen services for Academic Medical Center sites. You will model values, guide teams, and ensure optimal service levels while aligning with safety and policy standards.
The role emphasizes supervisory responsibilities, stakeholder collaboration, and process improvements to deliver high-quality patient and staff experiences at our Rhode Island facilities.
Reporting to the Director, Environmental and Textile Services, is responsible for the planning, organizing and ensuring that optimum housekeeping, laundry and linen services are provided to user departments art assigned Academic Medical Center Sites. Functions independently within broad scope of department policies and procedures. BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Associates Degree in Institutional Management or the field of business or health care administration top provide knowledge of management, record keeping, preparation of reports, etc. or its equivalent.Must have a good driving record in order to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Rhode Island as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and in accordance with Brown University Health's Fleet Risk Control Policy.Supervisory and managerial abilities necessary to direct the activities of service (including non-English speaking and supervisory personnel.Interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with all levels of Hospital personnel.Knowledge of sanitation and other procedures and techniques necessary to assist in the development and standards, evaluation of products and so forth.
EXPERIENCE:Requires at least four years of progressively more responsible housekeeping experience including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
Considerable walking and standing. Occasional exposure to adverse conditions while inspecting and directly supervising personnel.
