Full Time Job Summary:

Maintains all laundry equipment to ensure the quality of linen processed and timely delivery of linen to all customers.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification:

None.

Work Experience:

1 - 2 years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be computer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Must have good knowledge of diagnostic equipment, electrical applications and mechanical applications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assembles, installs, repairs and maintains laundry/housekeeping equipment including the conveyor system, tunnel batch washer, dryers, all folders, spreader feeders, small item folders and ironers.
• Maintains parts inventory and submits list of items to Manager for reorder.
• Inspects machinery/equipment to gain access to defective parts.
• Searches for new, used and rebuilt parts through various vendors for best pricing.
• Conducts periodic preventive maintenance checks on all equipment.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean of lint, grease and oil.
• Completes work assignments and requests, giving a detailed account of parts and time needed on equipment.
• Follows safe work practices and infection control procedures.

Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Working Relationships:

• Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise).
• Works directly with patients and/or customers.
• Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
