JOB SUMMARY:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Laundry Machine Operator is responsible for operating laundry machines efficiently, ensuring all linen and terry are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained to high standards. This role contributes to guest satisfaction and overall hotel cleanliness.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in laundry or hospitality is a plus.
• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate and monitor industrial laundry machines, including washers, dryers, ironers, and folding machines.
• Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens and terry according to procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, ensuring equipment is clean and well maintained.
• Perform routine maintenance and report malfunctions or repairs.
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols.
• Keep accurate records of laundry inventory and supplies.
• Assist in training new staff on procedures and equipment.
• Collaborate with housekeeping for timely delivery of linens and uniforms.
• Adhere to hotel policies to ensure quality service and compliance.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Work hours may vary, including holidays, weekends, shifts, overtime, or reduced hours.
• Remain courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers.

ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor work with artificial lighting, hard and carpeted floors, regulated ventilation and temperatures.
