Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is hiring for a maintenance supervisor at the Central Laundry of Virginia Beach. You will oversee daily preventative maintenance and repairs on laundry equipment, coordinating with production and mechanical teams to keep operations running smoothly.

You will develop and follow maintenance schedules, attend trainings, and ensure safety and energy efficiency across the facility. Experience in hotel maintenance and the ability to read schematics are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of management and supervisory experience.
• Three years of hotel maintenance experience with emphasis on preventative maintenance.
• Vocational schooling, military training, or certification in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry.
• Ability to read OEM schematics and manuals.
• Proficient in reading and using computer software including MS Office.
• Practical knowledge of central laundry production and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine preventative maintenance and repairs on all laundry equipment.
• Coordinate with production and mechanical teams across the plant.
• Prepare distribution carts and maintain plant cleanliness and organization.
• Attend departmental and company training sessions and communicate progress.
• Maintain exterior facilities, curb appeal, and general grounds upkeep.
• Operate heavy machinery and manage structural and utility systems.
• Adhere to attendance rules and site safety procedures.

Maintain building complex as energy efficiency as possible constantly looking for ways to save energy.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide Daily routine preventative maintenance and repairs to all laundry equipment.Works with all of the production and mechanical equipment throughout the plant.Prepares distribution carts in all areas of the plant.Attends all departmental, companywide and factory in-service training and education programs.Provides prompt feedback to the director of production, maintenance, safety, security and physical environment problems.Maintain the building exterior and \"curb appeal\" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.Exposure to extreme temperatures.Operation of heavy machinery.Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications and SkillsMinimum of three years of management and supervisor experience.Three years of hotel maintenance experience, with special emphasis on preventative maintenanceVocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades required in 1 or more of the following areas: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.Climbing, reading, standing, walking, and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.Be able to develop a working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing to include water/steam.Must be able to become proficient in reading OEM schematics and manuals.Must have a working knowledge of computers and MS XP operating software and MS Office programs to include Word and Excel.Practical knowledge of central laundry production and techniques.Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
