Job summary

Spire Hospitality is seeking a laundry attendant at our Vermont resort in Stowe to ensure proper sorting and distribution of laundry to meet high standards of quality. Responsibilities include transporting linen to and from hotel, spa and laundry facilities, pre-sorting by classification, and operating folding equipment and ironer to process towels, mats and bed linens.

Must lift up to 50 lbs and push carts up to 100 lbs; English comprehension for safety labels required.

Responsibilities

• Transport dirty and clean linen and terry to and from hotel/spa and laundry facilities.
• Empty the laundry chute and prepare loads for washer.
• Pre-sort and separate linen by classification and transfer by lifting or transporting to work stations.
• Run folding equipment including ironer for towels and bed linens.
• Separate laundry requiring mending or stain removal.
• Clean empty hampers.

The purpose of this position is to ensure the proper sorting and distribution of laundry to meet high standards of quality.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for transporting dirty and clean linen and terry to and from the hotel/spa and laundry facilities.
• Empty the laundry chute and prepare loads for washer.
• Pre‑sort and separate linen by classification and transfer by lifting, carrying or transporting to work stations.
• Run folding equipment to fold mats, blankets, towels, bedspreads, etc. Includes running ironer.
• Separate laundry requiring mending or special stain removal.
• Clean empty hampers.

Supportive Functions

• Provide assistance to washer by pushing carts from washing to drying area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate

$18.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time. May require lifting bundles (linen) weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as safety labels and instructions.
