Responsible for controlling and issuing linen and terry products used by room and food and beverage divisions. Ensures all laundry is removed from chutes, sorted, and prepared for transport to the wash area. Removes soiled items from laundry carts, inspects linen and terry for damage or stains, sorts, separates, and bags soiled linen and terry for processing. Operates washer, dryer, and various equipment, maintains records, and takes inventory. • Assist housekeeper or porter in unloading carts containing soiled linen and terry products.
• Keep common areas neat and free of debris at all times, ensuring cleaning products are not visible or left in guest areas.
• Remove soiled items from laundry carts and handle them appropriately.
• Remove damaged or stained items for special processing.
• Program finishing equipment to process various linen and terry products.
• Feed washed damp or dry linen onto ironer or folder, or fold dry linen manually.
• Feed dry terry products onto folder or fold manually.
• Sort, stack, and count finished linen and terry products.
• Coordinate monthly inventory, determine loss quantities, and compile statistics.
• Report equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas.
• Promote teamwork skills at all times.
• Complete checklists and inventory sheets for supervisor approval.
• Keep linen and supply closet organized.
• Use only approved cleaning supplies provided.
• Follow special care instructions for linens, floors, surfaces, etc.
• Wear a proper, neat, and professional uniform at all times.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform various physical movements throughout the day.
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
