Responsibilities
- Sorting dirty linen from the laundry chute to be processed.
- Pickup of dirty linen from Food & Beverage outlets and banquets.
- Operate all washers, dryers, ironers, and other laundry equipment.
- Operate smaller washers/dryers to process specialty items or requests for guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department at all times.
- Adhere to safety and sanitization regulations as instructed by OSHA and Omni Hotels & Resorts.
- Participate in monthly linen inventories.
- Encourage mutual trust, respect and cooperation among co-workers; treat co-workers fairly and equitably.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and organized appearance according to Omni Mount Washington standards.
- Respond swiftly and effectively in emergencies or safety situations; ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce risk of injury or accident.
- Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
- Must be able to stand in the work station for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to push and pull carts up to 250 pounds often throughout the shift.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch regularly.
- Must be able to travel to various areas of the hotel to pick/deliver linen items in allotted time.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations with a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
- Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all times.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
