Summary

The laundry attendant's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning and pressing soiled linen from guest rooms, banquet rooms, kitchen, and any other duties the Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, or Housekeeping Supervisor deems necessary.

Guest Service

• Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
• Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests' needs
• Committed to making every guest satisfied
• Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
• Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
• Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards

Laundry Attendant Duties

• Sort linen by type
• Properly load washers and dryers
• Follow proper laundry folding and stacking procedures
• Separate re‑wash linen using proper procedures
• Assist with monthly inventory procedures and collect dirty linen from guest rooms
• Clean linen traps from dryers
• Wipe down equipment and report any malfunction to management
• Sweep and mop laundry floors
• Remove trash at end of shift
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service‑oriented manner
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling standards as required by hotel needs
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name‑tag usage while working
• Comply at all times with safety and operational regulations
• Transport soiled linen from guest hallways to laundry area when needed
• Other duties as required
• Ensure linen is clean and available for use by hotel departments when needed

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent, plus relative experience in customer service

Language and Mathematical Skills

• Ability to effectively communicate with employees and supervisors for optimum operation of the property

Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed for an extended period of time
• Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials
• Proper lifting techniques required
• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
